Sacred Meditation and Healing Workshops & Individual Healings
Rev. Scott Sherman, August 8 and 9, 2010

The Sacred Meditation Healing experience is one of wonderful peace, love and healing. Rev. Sherman learned this technique from two medical doctors who have worked in spiritual transformation and healing for over 30 years. He began working with them 25 years ago and has presented this workshop and the individual sessions over 370 times in Unity churches during the last ten years. The experience involves gentle touch or near touch of one’s energy centers in a loving, devotional setting. The intent is to amplify the natural energies of the mind/body and thus facilitate greater balance and wholeness.

Scott says, "It is the most loving, gentle experience I know. Because it is holistic, it has helped hundreds to be healed of physical, emotional, financial and relationship issues."

The Sunday afternoon workshop is open to the general public; Monday evening workshops are for those interested in learning the technique, and for certification. Happiness is a Choice
Jackie McCullough and Audrey Perry will offer a class on Barry Neil Kaufmann’s book, Happiness is a Choice. As an Option Process Mentor, Jackie has applied in her own life the principles which Kaufmann wrote about, and she has used these principles to overcome fear, anxiety and depression. Audrey Perry is a therapist and an experienced student of spirituality. Together they enthusiastically offer these principles and techniques to others, so that you too can have the happiness which you want and deserve. All the other goals you have, you work toward as a way to achieve a form of happiness. Come and learn about the true dynamics of happiness. Class will be held Mondays, 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. beginning July 12 and will run for 12 weeks. The class will be given on a love offering basis.

Class on Bach Flower Essences

By popular request Rev. Eleanor Celentani will offer a class on the Bach flower essences for mental and emotional healing. The class will include teaching on:

• What the essences are and how they work
• Dr. Edward Bach’s healing philosophy
• How to use the essences and where to obtain them
• How to make combination formulas
• General principles of flower essence therapy which apply across brands.

Please note that flower essences are NOT aromatherapy. This class will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 25, 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 29, 12:45 to 2:00 p.m. Please sign up at the church or contact the church office to register.

Adult Sunday School
People interested in studying basic Unity principles should see Sylvia Barker, the librarian. She will explain the process and give them tapes to listen to.

Oneness Blessing
Unity is host to the Oneness Blessing, which is a prayerful, silent transmission of spiritual energy through laying on of hands, focusing on universal oneness. The blessing is given every Sunday at 5:00 p.m. Blessings Givers are Linda Hilliker and Kathy Lewandowski. Love Offering.

David Hawkins Study Group
This group will be aligned with and devoted to the teachings of David R. Hawkins, MD, Ph.D. and will serve as a vehicle of Divine Will to support our advancement in consciousness of service to God and humanity. The group will meet every other Monday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Since this is a study group, participants will be expected to complete reading assignments in between classes, and members are required to have read at least one of Dr. Hawkins’ books before signing up for this class. Chaplaincy Training
Unity Prayer Chaplains go through an extensive training process which was developed by Unity minister Rev. Lei Lanni Burt. Prayer chaplains hold sacred space for others as they visit homes and hospitals and make monthly wellness calls. At CCU we are offering Chaplaincy training to those who have completed training for our Prayer Team and have gained some experience in the prayer ministry. There is Only God: Studies in Nonduality
This group is investigating and discussing teachings and writings from both the traditional major spiritual sources, and the inspiring and transformational offerings of many contemporary nondual teachers. The primary objective of the group is to provide a free and open exchange of spiritual ideas and information in a spirit of fellowship and reverence for the One Divine Nature ever present in all beings. Drum Joy
Our drumming circle meets on the last Saturday of the month, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Some instruments are available for people who do not have their own. Leader: Matt Mantione. For more information please contact Bob Gajewski or the church office. Love Offering.

Youth Education
Weekly classes for school age and nursery age children are offered at the church at 11:00 a.m., during the Sunday Service. These classes teach Unity principles in age-appropriate ways, using prayer, music, stories, Bible study, drama, affirmations and signed English. Youth Ed Director: Marna Rossi. If you would like to assist in a class some time, or demonstrate a skill that you have for the children, please contact Marna or our church office; we welcome new faces to give support to our children’s spiritual growth.

Our Teen Group is meeting the fourth Sunday of each month (during the worship service).

Leslie Wright is teaching the Five Basic Unity Principles. They are:

1. There is one Presence and one Power
2. Our essence is of God
3. We are co-creators with God
4. Prayer, Meditation and Affirmations
5. Living Truth

All young people from age eleven up are welcome and encouraged to participate, get to know each other, and have some fun.
