Book Study
Lessons in Truth by H. Emilie Cady
Rev. Eleanor is offering a discussion class and book study of the Unity classic, Lessons in Truth, by H. Emilie Cady. Class meets on the first and third Wednesday of the month from 2:00—3:30 p.m. at the Wood Library in Canandaigua. Some of the topics include: thinking, denials, affirmations, faith, chemicalization, spiritual understanding. This book is highly recommended for new Unity students and also for experienced people who would like to refresh their understanding of these key concepts in Unity. For many years this book was required as preparation for Unity membership throughout the Unity movement. Copies of the book are available in our church bookstore and library. The 2007 edition is suggested. Love offering.

Book Study
Discover the Power Within You by Eric Butterworth
On Feb. 22 we will begin the Lenten season with a book study of Eric Butterworth's classic Unity book, Discover the Power Within You. Rev. Sharon Peters will teach this class on Wednesday mornings at 10:00 a.m. at Unity church on a love offering basis. Some of the topics include: discovering the Christ within you...what is religion and what is its purpose?...what did Jesus think of God?

Sacred Healing Meditation
This individual healing session will be offered on Feb. 5 and 26 after our Sunday service, in the prayer room, at approximately 1:00 and 2:00 p.m. These healing sessions are given by trained facilitators in a meditative environment of sacred healing transmission. Only two sessions are offered each day; please sign up at the counter. Love offerings to the church are appreciated.

Soup of the Month
Building on the success of our Chili Cook-off, each month we will have one Sunday when homemade soups will be available after the morning service for purchase to take home. Three dollar and five dollar containers are available. There will be two soups available each time, with at least one vegetarian choice. The next Soup of the Month date is February 5, 2012. There will be opportunities for people to volunteer to provide soup in the months ahead. Please contact any trustee to be on the schedule. Thank you for your support, and bon appetit!

Super Bowl Chili
On February 5th we will be offering Super Bowl Chili as the next installment of our Soup of the Month program. This is available after our Sunday service in $3 and $5 containers. This is a fundraiser for the church and a chance for our great cooks to show off and provide you with a hot dish for cold days besides. Jeff Smith and Bruce Benton are organizing our chili Sunday. Introduction to Unity class
This class offers students the opportunity to learn about the essential teachings of Unity, the history of Unity, and how a Unity church functions today. This class is open to anyone who would like to find out more about Unity, and all 3 sessions are required for those who wish to become members of the church. The next series will be Sundays Feb. 5, 12 and 19 taught by Rev.Sharon Peters. Class will take place from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Please sign up at the front counter or call the church office to register.

Women of Wisdom (WOW)
Women’s Wisdom Circle
Our Women’s Wisdom Circle is a welcoming, safe circle of women where you are lovingly valued no matter how you feel or what you do as Unity teaches us that each person is a unique expression of God created with sacred worth. We all feel better when we fill the need to nourish ourselves through each other with friendship using spiritual and emotional caring ways allowing us to get to know each other on a deeper level. Our meetings are very flexible and comfortable. There is no required attendance, we attend when we can. In 2012 we will be meeting on the fourth Saturday of each month from 2:00 p.m.— 4:00 p.m. We take turns hosting each other in our homes or the hostess of the month can choose to hold the meeting at church. The hostess can either decide on a topic or just have general conversation and see where Spirit leads us! Meeting information is sent out via email. If you would like to be included on the distribution list, you can either use the sign up sheet on the front counter at church or contact Jeanne Gagne` in the church office at 473-0910. Meeting information can also be found in the WOW folder on the display table at church. Next scheduled meetings are Saturdays, February 25th and March 24th.

Oneness Blessing
Unity is host to the Oneness Blessing, which is a prayerful, silent transmission of spiritual energy through laying on of hands, focusing on universal oneness. This group meets on Thursday evenings from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Love Offering. Blessings Givers are Linda Hilliker and Kathy Lewandowski. Love Offering.

David Hawkins Study Group
This group will be aligned with and devoted to the teachings of David R. Hawkins, MD, Ph.D. and will serve as a vehicle of Divine Will to support our advancement in consciousness of service to God and humanity. The group will meet every other Monday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Since this is a study group, participants will be expected to complete reading assignments in between classes, and members are required to have read at least one of Dr. Hawkins’ books before signing up for this class. There is Only God: Studies in Nonduality
This group is investigating and discussing teachings and writings from both the traditional major spiritual sources, and the inspiring and transformational offerings of many contemporary nondual teachers. The primary objective of the group is to provide a free and open exchange of spiritual ideas and information in a spirit of fellowship and reverence for the One Divine Nature ever present in all beings. Saturdays, 10 a.m. to noon; facilitated by Les Collins. New people welcome.

Chaplaincy Training
Unity Prayer Chaplains go through an extensive training process which was developed by Unity minister Rev. Lei Lanni Burt. Prayer chaplains hold sacred space for others as they visit homes and hospitals and make monthly wellness calls. At CCU we are offering Chaplaincy training to those who have completed training for our Prayer Team and have gained some experience in the prayer ministry. Drum Joy
Our drumming circle meets on the last Saturday of the month, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Some instruments are available for people who do not have their own. For more information please contact Bob Gajewski or the church office. Next scheduled meetings are Saturdays, February 25 and March 24. Love Offering.

Youth Education
Weekly classes for school age and nursery age children are offered at the church at 11:00 a.m., during the Sunday Service. These classes teach Unity principles in age-appropriate ways, using prayer, music, stories, Bible study, drama, affirmations and signed English. Youth Ed Director: Marna Rossi. If you would like to assist in a class some time, or demonstrate a skill that you have for the children, please contact Marna or our church office; we welcome new faces to give support to our children’s spiritual growth.

Our Teen Group is meeting the fourth Sunday of each month (during the 11:00 a.m. worship service). The next Teen Sunday School dates are February 26 and March 26.

Leslie Wright is teaching the Five Basic Unity Principles. They are:

1. There is one Presence and one Power
2. Our essence is of God
3. We are co-creators with God
4. Prayer, Meditation and Affirmations
5. Living Truth

All young people from age eleven up are welcome and encouraged to participate, get to know each other, and have some fun.

It will also be posted on the church phone line 473-0910 after 8 a.m. Weeknight cancellations will be announced by 5 p.m. on the church voice mail and in the media if possible.
